Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek

As the Nepal government expands roads to several villages in the Annapurna region, access to the base camp has become easier through multiple entry points. This short ABC itinerary is designed for trekkers who want to reach the base camp quickly without missing out on the region’s stunning landscapes.

Although short, the trek begins at a relatively high altitude (around 2,000 meters), so it is recommended for those with previous trekking experience. Along the trail, you’ll witness beautiful snow-covered peaks, lush rhododendron forests, and peaceful Himalayan villages.

How It Differs from the Ghorepani Route

Unlike the classic Annapurna Base Camp trek via Ghorepani and Poon Hill, this short route skips the Poon Hill viewpoint. Poon Hill is famous for panoramic sunrise views over both the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, but this version focuses purely on reaching base camp faster.

If you have already completed the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek or have a limited holiday, the Short ABC Trek is a perfect choice. However, if you wish to enjoy both the cultural charm and the broad mountain vistas, the longer route via Ghorepani is highly recommended.
