Can we land at Everest Base Camp itself?

While we fly over Base Camp, we prefer landing at Kala Patthar. Why? Because from Base Camp, you are too close to the mountain to see the peak. Kala Patthar provides the iconic 360-degree view of the summit.

Is there a weight limit for the helicopter?

Yes. A standard B3e (Ecureuil) helicopter can carry about 450kg-500kg in total. At high altitudes (above 4,000m), we often perform “shuttle” flights, carrying only 2-3 people at a time to the landing site for safety.

Is the Everest Helicopter Tour safe?

Absolutely. We use AS350 B3e helicopters, which are designed specifically for high-altitude mountain rescue and tours. Our pilots have thousands of flight hours in the Himalayas.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety is our #1 priority. If the flight is canceled due to weather, we offer a full refund or the option to reschedule for the following day.

Do I need to worry about altitude sickness?

Since you are only at high altitude for a short duration (15-30 mins), the risk is minimal. We also carry supplemental oxygen on every flight just in case.

Can children and seniors go on this tour?

Yes! This is the best way for children and elderly travelers to see Everest without the physical strain of trekking.

What is the "Shuttle" system?

When a group has 4-5 people, the pilot will land at Pheriche or Syangboche and take 2 people at a time to Kala Patthar. This ensures the helicopter is light enough to land safely at 5,500m.
