Kedarnath Ropeway Project : Reach Kedarnath in Just 36 Minutes

The Indian government has recently approved the construction of a 12.9 km ropeway from Sonprayag to Kedarnath, a significant pilgrimage site in Uttarakhand. This project, valued at approximately ₹4,081 crore, aims to revolutionize travel for pilgrims by reducing the journey time from 8-9 hours to just 36 minutes. The ropeway will utilize advanced Tri-cable Detachable Gondola (3S) technology, capable of transporting 1,800 passengers per hour per direction, facilitating up to 18,000 pilgrims daily.
